MAX-Tension End Treatments
Powered by Sabertooth™ technology.
The MAX-Tension™ family of end treatments is specially engineered to reduce the impact of an errant vehicle by combining a tension-based design with an energy-absorbing coupler fitted with a patent-pending Sabertooth. Learn more about how our MASH TL-2 and TL-3 systems can benefit road authorities, contractors, workers and more below.
MAX-Tension TL-3 End Treatment
MASH acceptance
The MASH-compliant MAX-Tension TL-3 tangent end terminal with Sabertooth technology features the next level of impact performance in an ultra-slim design. The system has a tension-based design along with an energy-absorbing coupler that utilizes an innovative cutting-tooth technology. When impacted head-on, deceleration is controlled by friction in the tension cables and by cutting the downstream guardrail panels. When a side impact occurs, tension cables can help safely redirect a motorist away from the hazard. In addition, the MAX-Tension TL-3 terminal utilizes standard guardrail components for significant savings in inventory and maintenance costs. Nuisance impacts during snow removal and maintenance operations can also be minimized due to the narrow design of the MAX-Tension impact head.
Features
- Tension-based cables control deceleration and increase redirective performance
- Sabertooth technology increases energy-absorbing capacity and weakens the downstream guardrail to help reduce the severity of impacts
- Lightweight impact head makes installation quick and easy for contractors
- MASH Test 3-31 vehicle stopping distance is under 7 m (23')
- Available as a kit or full system with standard guardrail panels, posts and components after post 1
- Meets MASH TL-3 test criteria
MAX-Tension™ TL-2 End Treatment
MASH acceptance
The MAX-Tension™ TL-2 tangent guardrail terminal with Sabertooth technology mirrors the benefits of the TL-3 end treatment featuring exceptional impact performance and an ultra-slim, tension-based design that controls deceleration in head-on impacts and safely redirects motorist away from the hazard in side impacts. In addition, the MAX-Tension TL-2 terminal utilizes standard guardrail components and shares many “smart parts” with other MAX-Tension Terminal designs for significant savings in inventory and maintenance costs. Nuisance impacts during snow removal and maintenance operations can also be minimized due to the narrow design of the MAX-Tension impact head.
Features
- Non-gating, redirective system redirects vehicle at post #1
- Tension-based cables control deceleration and increase redirective performance.
- Sabertooth technology increases energy absorbing capacity and weakens the downstream guardrail to help reduce the severity of impacts.
- Lightweight impact head makes installation quick & easy.
- Available as a kit or full system with standard guardrail panels, posts and components after post 1.
- Meets MASH TL-2 test criteria
MAX-Tension Median End Treatment
MASH acceptance
The MAX-Tension median terminal with Sabertooth technology is MASH-tested and technologically advanced. The system utilizes the MAX-Tension family tension design and energy-absorbing coupler fitted with a patent-pending galvanized Sabertooth to help cut the downstream guardrail and aid in the deceleration of an errant vehicle when impacted. It also utilizes standard guardrail components for significant savings in inventory and maintenance costs.
Features
- Tension-based cables control deceleration and increase redirective performance
- Sabertooth technology increases energy-absorbing capacity and weakens the downstream guardrail to help reduce the severity of impacts
- Available as a kit or full system with standard guardrail panels, posts and components after post 1
- Interchangeable parts within the MAX-Tension family of end terminals to lower inventory costs
- Meets MASH TL-3 test criteria
