U-MAD truck- and trailer-mounted attenuators from Barrier Systems are designed to increase the safety of motorists when there is a stopped or parked vehicles as well as provide a reusable solution for when impacted. Each TMA listed has gone through rigorous testing and meets all mandatory and optional NCHRP 350 TL-2 and TL-3 criteria.
U-MAD Truck-Mounted Attenuator
NCHRP 350 acceptance
The U-MAD truck-mounted attenuator offers outstanding performance and quick, simple refurbishment. It utilizes many different engineered systems for quick attachment to a variety of host vehicles while providing a wide range of protection for workers, motorists and equipment. The U-MAD TMA is available as a NCHRP 350 TL-2, TL-3 or 80 km/h system for use in work zones with speed capacities from 70-100 km/h (44-62 mph).

U-MAD Trailer Mounted Attenuator (70K)
NCHRP 350 acceptance
This U-MAD trailer provides TL-2 trailer TMA protection and features a reusable trailer that only requires replacement of a standard U-MAD TMA cartridge after design impacts. The TMA has been engineered to capture an errant vehicle during a design impact and keeps both the impacted and impacting vehicles in the same traveling lane. Plus, it meets all mandatory and optional NCHRP 350 TL-2 tests.

This U-MAD trailer provides TL-3 trailer TMA protection and features the same reusable design and errant vehicle capturing methods as the U-MAD trailer above. However, this system meets all mandatory and optional NCHRP 350 TL-3 tests to support speed capacities up to 100 km/h (62 mph).
