Irrigation
From award-winning remote monitoring and control to industry-leading irrigation systems, our field-proven solutions are customized to meet the needs of every grower or agriculture advisor.
Infrastructure
Lindsay is driven to provide road authorities and contractors flexible and sustainable infrastructure solutions that improve the safety of our roads and the way people move on them.
Our history is rooted in innovation.
Once a small operation in the rural American Midwest, Lindsay has grown to become a worldwide force in irrigation and infrastructure.
1950s
In 1955, our founder, Paul Zimmerer, began a farm equipment business in Lindsay, Nebraska, USA, with the first successful irrigation towline for rough field terrain. Snoline™, now a Lindsay company, begins manufacturing road safety products around the same time too.
1960s
Our first Zimmatic center pivot—designed and built by Zimmerer’s sons—begins operating on a farm in Nebraska. It’s still in operation today!
1970s
We receive patents for our uni-knuckle joint and proprietary external collector ring to give Zimmatic systems a competitive advantage. These features still contribute to the leading performance, strength and long-lasting durability of our pivot and lateral-move systems.
1980s
We release our revolutionary Zimmatic 9500P center pivot and launch our Remote Monitor and Alarm Control (R-MAC) system using computer technology that allows pivots to “talk” for the first time. The first Road Zipper System launches in 1984, marking another big milestone.
1990s
The introduction of AIMS (Automated Irrigation Management System) control panels allow growers to precisely program water, fertilizer and chemical application—eliminating repeated trips to the fields.
2001
We move to our current headquarters of Omaha, Nebraska, and establish Lindsay Europe with the acquisition of Perrot hose reel irrigation systems.
2002
Lindsay Brazil and Lindsay South Africa are established, expanding our global presence.
2006
We introduce our award-winning FieldNET® technology to give growers remote monitoring and control capabilities. We also expand to the infrastructure space with the acquisition of Barrier Systems® and Snoline™.
2007
We celebrate our 100,000th pivot being shipped.
2009
We acquire Rail Structures & Signals and open our China factory to better support Lindsay’s global presence.
2011
We acquire Precision Irrigation in New Zealand and IRZ Consulting to help provide growers with enhanced, efficient and sustainable solutions.
2015
The Road Zipper System is installed on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, a milestone for the product, and the Elecsys Corporation is acquired—making Lindsay a leader in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
2017
FieldNET® Advisor launches, taking our irrigation management technology to the next level.
2019
We celebrate the 50th anniversary of our first Zimmatic pivot.
