Meet Matt Waid!

Matt joined the Elecsys commercial team a year ago as a Business Development Manager. As such, Matt is responsible for developing and executing a go-to-market strategy for a newly established vertical within the Elecsys organization - #FLOWS.
In recent news, Matt has commenced a ‘Voice of the Customer Tour’ that is designed to gain insight directly from our customers on how we can continuously improve our offerings for them. Matt also works to improve and manage relationships with a number of new and existing EMS customers.

Job Title: Business Development Manager
How long have you been an employee at Elecsys? Just over one year.
If you could pick one of your job activities or a recent project to describe as special, what would it be and why? Embarking on a 'Voice of the Customer Tour' with our Product Manager, Jamey Hilleary, over the course of the last few months. We visited with 10-15 different end-users of water and wastewater across the country (in-person and virtually). It was an awesome opportunity to learn more about what our future customers want and need.

What is something on your bucket list that you have not checked off yet? Traveling through Italy. I would love to experience and enjoy the history, architecture, scenery and food (of course).
What is one fun fact about yourself? I studied abroad in Barcelona while in college.
What is your idea of a great day? Walking my dog Jax with my girlfriend Liz before having lunch with my whole family and then hitting the golf course with close friends in the afternoon. All on a nice cool day in the fall.
If you were an animal, what would you be? Why? So many possibilities. I'll go with a dog. It has to be one of the happiest, easiest and most spoiled existences there is.
If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would you invite? Tiger Woods, Albert Einstein and Abraham Lincoln. Seems like a good group.
Would you rather be able to speak any language or be able to communicate with animals? Speak any language. What a gift it would be to have the ability to communicate with anybody in the world.
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? Take the whole family on an extended vacation somewhere on a golf course and next to the beach.
If you could time travel, where would you like to travel to? Ancient Rome. A great teacher of mine taught a class about it and got me hooked.
When it comes to snacks, do you prefer salty or sweet? List your favorite treat. Big fan of both. If a choice must be made, I'll go with sweet. Been big on the Sweet Tart Chewy's lately.
If you could choose to have one superpower, what would it be and why? Teleportation. It would save so much time and money!
