FieldNET Advisor™ to Launch for Use on Potato Crops
Jan 10, 2018
We kicked off the 2018 Potato Expo with some exciting news – FieldNET Advisor will be available for use on potatoes this growing season.
An advanced irrigation management solution, the tool uses patented technology to deliver the information growers need to make faster, better-informed decisions about when, where and how much to irrigate – improving yields while reducing water usage and other input costs.
“When FieldNET Advisor launched last year, it was for use on corn and soybeans,” said Brian Magnusson, vice president of irrigation technology at Lindsay Corporation. We’re very excited that we now can offer the smartest solution in irrigation to potato growers.”
FieldNET Advisor combines more than 40 years of crop and irrigation science with FieldNET’s cloud computing capabilities, remote sensing functionality and machine learning to provide growers with field- and crop specific irrigation recommendations.
Magnusson provided an overview of FieldNET Advisor during a Potato Expo Innovation Hub education session held on Wednesday, January 10. During the session, called Optimized Irrigation Management Made Simple, he explained how this new technology delivers a fully integrated solution to optimize, execute and monitor irrigation management.
“FieldNET Advisor takes irrigation management to the next level,” Magnusson said. “I look forward to talking with growers at the Potato Expo and showing them how this technology can help simplify and optimize their operations.”
FieldNET Advisor recently was named a 2018 AE50 Award winner. Presented by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, the award recognizes the year’s most innovative designs in engineering products of systems for the food and agriculture industries.
The Potato Expo will run through January 12 in Orlando, Florida. For more information about FieldNET Advisor and other innovative irrigation products, visit the Lindsay booth (#532), talk to your local Zimmatic dealer or go to www.fieldnetadvisor.com.
