Meet Joshua Gillespie!

Joshua has been on the Elecsys team for over a year now where he has worked on the production floor in various roles. Currently, he serves as a Lead Assembler on our Surface Mount team where he brings energy, excitement, and enthusiasm to those around him.

How long have you been an employee at Elecsys?

16 months

If you could pick one of your job activities or a recent project to describe as special, what would it be and why? 

It would have to be assisting in Surface Mount Assembly. Due to a large influx of orders, they have been swamped with work. A peer and I both offset our shifts by four hours to run Surface Mount lines after hours, which made it feel as though we were both making a significant impact in our work environment and sharing workloads.

What is something on your bucket list that you have not checked off yet? 

I would love to go skydiving. The view must be beautiful, and I can't even imagine the thrill.

What is one fun fact about yourself? 

I have five brothers, for a total of six boys in my family.

What is your idea of a great day? 

Smooth work, followed by a cool fall evening of fun with friends.

If you were an animal, what would you be? Why? 

I would have to pick some form of bird. I can't help but feel that the freedom of flight is intoxicating.

If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would you invite? 

My family, for certain.

Would you rather be able to speak any language or be able to communicate with animals? 

Any language. I think language and etymology are beautiful. I even took Latin in High School, as well as Spanish and ASL in middle school.

What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? 

A trampoline. I've always wanted one.

If you could time travel, where would you like to travel to? 

Definitely the future. Seeing the potential of the human race must be astounding.

When it comes to snacks, do you prefer salty or sweet? List your favorite treat.

Definitely salty. I'm partial to chips, though I'm not picky about flavors.

If you could choose to have one superpower, what would it be and why? 

Teleportation. I value time, and that would save so much. I could visit my best friend in North Carolina in a heart beat.
